Laura Laine

While researching fashion illustrations there was one name that kept appearing, laura laine. Her style is so delicate and fluid, but she manages to create a slightly dark and haunting atmosphere. The hair styles are particularly interesting. She is a very talented freelance illustrator and has worked for clients such as Zara, Tommy Hilfiger, H&M, Iben Hoej, Daniel Palillo, The New York Times Magazine, Elle Girl, The Guardian, and Páp Magazine.

Theirry Mugler and Gaga

My friend Rosalind showed me this, It's Theirry Mugler fall/winter 2011/2011 featuring Lady Gaga and other well known faces. 

Surrealist Shirts

Once again we're shooting our surrealist shirts, but this time for our magazine. Rosalind modeled for us again, she looked amazing in our Urban shoot.

SLEAZENATION

We had a lecture a few weeks ago from Hwyle Davies from Central St. Martins. He used to work for a magazine called 'SLEAZENATION', and I thought it sounded quite interesting as it was quite outrageous, taking the mic out of Fashion and making political statements. The magazine has stopped publishing, so I thought I would never get a copy, but I went on eBay and managed to get four different issues for about £10. The pictures below are for an editorial called 'All things Bright and Beautiful' and each image has a verse of the song as a caption. It is a good juxtaposition as the models are holding weapons and the song is a religious message about loving everything in the world.

Today we shot our cover for our magazine. We decided on the name EXPOSURE, as it has connotations of photography and revealing something. Wozza modeled for us, she did a great job, think the images look quite I-Dish.

I really like the ones with the kiss on the hand, since I-D has a signature wink, ours could be with a signature Kiss mark.

Surrealist Skirts photoshoot

We were asked take photos of our surreal skirts to show the Museum in Edinburgh where we had got our inspiration. Me and Megan took pictures for each other, we found a nice field up in the hills of Galashiels, where a confused local drove past, and ended up stopping saying 'she had never seen anything like this'.
